SIR RICHARD DEARLOVE
Born in Cornwall in 1945, and educated at Cambridge, Sir Richard Dearlove joined the MI6 in 1966. His postings have taken him all over the world to such places as Nairobi, Paris, Geneva and Washington.He was appointed OBE in 1984 (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire)

He was made chief of the MI6 in 1999 and held this post until 2014.He served as Director of Operations during a time of difficult and political unrest in the world, such as the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, 9/ 11 and the war on terror. DurinG this period, he was appointed a KCMG (Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George)

Upon retiring from the MI6,he was elected the Master of Pembroke College Cambridge, a post he successfully kept for 11 years until he retired in 2015

His lectures and talks are undoubtedly gripping, taking into account the wealth of knowledge and experience he has gained over the many decades
working in secret service. His topics include :World Affairs, National Security and Intelligence
